Operation Pillar of Defense

Dear Friends,

We all knew that sooner or later Israel would have to once again rise to the bullies of the world. The world has watched the patience of Israel and now much of the world is voicing their approval how Israel is handling the current crisis. Your prayers and support of Israel are needed now more than before.

I recently returned home from my 27th journey to Israel. On October 8th I joined a day tour with my Believer Guide Friend Netan; this was the day after the drone missile was shot down by Israel. While Hezbollah claimed responsibility for launching the missile this was one of the alarms that the world began to see. Nasrallahm, the leader of Hezbollah said “Today we are uncovering a small part of our capabilities, and we shall keep many more hidden,” he continued by saying “It is our natural right to send other reconnaissance flights inside occupied Palestine … This is not the first time and will not be the last. We can reach any place we want in Israel.”

This statement got confirmed as we were standing outside the Zion Gate. A call from one of his children (he has nine) brought us to attention; she’s a 20 year-old soldier in the Israeli Defense Force. When he got off the phone he began to share the reason for her call. It was at this time that Israel was going from orange to red alert. It was at that moment we all knew that things would begin to happen in the not so distant future.

Over the next few days I began to share with my friends that Israel was on red alert and it was wise to always be aware of your surroundings. Notices were being put up instructing the safety bunkers in the city; something that had really caught my eye as never before.

I departed on the 22nd of October which also was the week they the country was “practicing” for a major emergency; Earthquake Preparedness. Israel believes that a very big earthquake may happen in the future and are predicting that up to 5000 people could be injured. Streets were blocked, groups of emergency medical and police personal were being stationed, and hospitals went through drills.

Today (November 17, 2012) Israel isn’t seeing Hezbollah’s rage intensify, but Hamas. It is almost like it should be double red alert. Reserve troops have been summed, over 70,000 to leave their families the next days and weeks.

Israel has chosen an appropriate name for this operation; in our media it is called Operation Pillar of Defense (Ammud Anan) and should be correctly translated Pillar of the Cloud; a direct reference to the pillar of the cloud found in Exodus 13:21 & 22.

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.      KJV

While the Scripture reference is for Passover, the meaning is as strong as what the word “pillar” stands for as well as a “memorial” to what the Lord did with His Strong Hand as the Children of Israel left Egypt. (Exodus 13:9)

I choose the picture of the two silver trumpets for this blog with much purpose. First a little background of them.

Trumpet in the Bible was either a shofar (ram’s horn) or the silver trumpets. Each has their own particular functions; initially the two functions of the silver trumpets; the calling of assembly and the breaking of camp. There are two “calls” associated with them. We learn of this call from the Holy Scriptures and from history and historical texts. The tekiah (a short blast) and the teruah (a series of rapid, staccato blasts).

The Call to Break Camp is the ‘teruah‘; short, rapid tones that would signal the various families surrounding the Tabernacle compound to set out and break camp. (Numbers 10:5, 6).

The Call to Assemble – the ‘tekiah‘ was in addition to the breaking of camp. The silver trumpets were used to call “the community” to assemble with Moses at the entrance to the Dwelling. There was a distinction between the two instructions. If the tekiah was heard from one silver trumpet it was a signal that the head of the family assemble at the entrance of the Dwelling with Moses. If both trumpets sounded the whole community was to gather at the entrance to the Dwelling with Moses – (Numbers 10:3, Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews 3:292-294).

The functions that were assigned to the silver trumpets were many; they were sounded in the time of war (Numbers 10:9, 31:6; 2 Chronicles 13:12), in the day of your gladness, your appointed seasons and new moons (Numbers 10:10), before the Ark of YAHVEH and over the burnt-offerings and peace-offerings. – (Numbers 10:10; 1 Chronicles 15:24, 15:28, 16:6, 16:14; 2 Chronicles 5:12, 5:13, 7:6. 13:14, 29:28)

Today, Family, both trumpets have sounded and it is declaration that not only the heads of Israel to assemble, but the Whole House of Israel, and those who love her, to respond and join in the spirit to be a “pillar” as Israel continues to rightfully defend her citizens. We have that opportunity tomorrow, Sunday, November 17 to be united in prayer. (EST 9am)

Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar and Former chief rabbi Ovadia Yoeph announced  Thursday evening that they would hold a massive gathering of prayer for spiritual awakening and on behalf of the soldiers, Sunday afternoon at 4:00 the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem.

The chief rabbi said, “The people of Israel lives, and its success depends on its unity and faith.” He sent out a prayer of recovery for the wounded and condolences to the families of those who were killed, concluding, “It’s our duty, at this hour, to strengthen the residents of the south and our heroic soldiers in prayer.” (source Arutz Sheva)

Thank you for setting apart time to pray tomorrow and also to be a “silver trumpet”. Also, don’t let your prayers only be for one day. It is possible that this conflict won’t be resolved in a few days; it could be longer. The reality is the truth that this is (and has been) an attack on the freedom of democracy that is found in the only country in the Middle East who values life, family and freedom, Israel. The  patience of Israel has been amazing as they have endured thousands of rockets this year, and hundreds just over the last few days.

So much more to write but I want to share with you that Israel’s Iron Dome is working!!  This diagram shows the mechanics of it.

Google Iron Dome Israel to see more info how the Iron Dome is working and protecting Israel.

ALSO, this info just in. The IDF is asking for discretion to be used in your social media how you are reporting rocket activity in Israel as the enemy is using it. Please tell everyone to be wise in their posts!!

To close I want to tell you of the plans that I am making for a spring journey to Israel, March 10 to 19, 2013. Details have been posted on my web page www.HereToTheNations.com/page10. I also posted a video on my Face book page www.facebook.com/PreciousOils with the invite. I’ll be posting some of the mitzvah’s (good deeds) and basic itinerary soon. If you’ve never read a theme who the Fragrant Bride is I’ve written it out and it is why we are going to Israel in the Spring.

For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burns. And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name. Thou shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. Thou shall no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shall be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighted in thee, and thy land shall be married. For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.  Isaiah 62:1-7

The book of Ruth gives us a “clue” to how an Intercessor’s character should be.

And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goes, I will go; and where thou lodges, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Ruth 1:16

Three times Naomi “urged” or “interceded” for Orpah and Ruth to go back to Moab. Orpah left, Ruth began her own intercession (entreating) by clinging onto Naomi. Intercession requires us to “cling on” to which is good, and where we find promise.

Volumes could be written how the Bride of Yeshua is being refined. In Hebrew we find the word is

צרף   tsâraph   tsaw-raf’

A primitive root; to fuse (metal), that is, refine (literally or figuratively): – cast, (re-) fine (-er), founder, goldsmith, melt, pure, purge away, try.

One scriptural usage of tsaraph is found in Daniel 12:10, it is the word “tried”.   Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

The Father is looking for a Bride for His Son. She will be a Watchman on the Walls, she will “cling-on”, and she will understand the times that we live.

Thanks for reading.

Getting Back Into the Swing of My Life

Dear Friends,

This morning I’m getting “back into the swing” of my life after the months of travel to Florida, Hong Kong, China, Israel and Texas. It’s great to be home, especially with the excitement of a new grand daughter due to arrive in a few weeks! This morning I received an e-mail that I feel is worth sharing my response to; it reflects other e-mails over the years that have heart-breaking situations. I felt me posting my response to her would be beneficial to not only her, but to update my followers about the updates of Precious Oils.

Dear xxxxxxxx,

First of all I am sorry for the medical and personal challenges you are facing with your son. I pray that the Lord gives you wisdom in every choice that you are making. Your e-mail this morning struck a deep chord within me and I hope you don’t mind that I am sharing my response to you in my blog. While your concern is your son’s genetic disorder don’t forget that you need to take care of yourself so you in turn can take care of him.

Second, I’m not a medical or natural path doctor, so I can’t give specific non-prescription advice, but I can give you suggestions and give insight on some projects that I am working on where I am focusing on immune building “folk remedies” of essential oils, how to have your own natural first-aid kit and provide a handy guide people can have on their shelf to begin to explore the health, beauty and pleasure of essential oils.

Our laws in the US do not allow me to tell you such and such oil will cure any disease. But I can recommend essentials that you can use to release stress through inhalation and massage (including foot and hand; not only full body) for you and your family. One of the beautiful components of using essential oils is that you can “step back and smell the plants” and reflect on the Lord and his creation of putting the healing in the plants that we can smell and apply to our bodies. Reliving stress during difficult seasons such as you are experiencing is important.

I also find the timing of your note to be fairly amazing as one of my current projects includes a new book; Oils & Ailments which I hope to have to the printer in a few days. I also have been doing a lot of personal research with a product that I began using a few months ago. Interestingly it is for a supplement that builds the immune system. I’ve been taking the supplement for about ten weeks and share more at the end of this e-mail.

My quest and becoming a voice to build our immune systems actually began as I wrote Esther’s Days of Purification. Let me explain a bit better as I continue to stand in awe how the Holy Spirit had me pen certain properties of Oil of Myrrh, emotions and illnesses. The numbers of people who have purchased my book continue to share their own experiences and how they have related what I’ve penned. I don’t take credit as it was the Holy Spirit showing me the links using the story of Esther’s purification as the back-drop.

The first thing I address under Esther’s six months of Oil of Myrrh is forgiveness. As I studied I linked that lack of forgiveness to auto-immune diseases and how Oil of Myrrh is an immune builder and how the Oil of Myrrh used in massage and bath may have possibly been used to help Esther in building her immune system. One thing that really shocked me as I studied auto-immune diseases is how many there are. I located “lists” with the number of diseases that varied from 100 to 200; I found the lists over-whelming. In addition, the personal emotions I felt this year at the Mount of Beatitudes in the Galilee of Israel were just as overwhelming as it “hit home” like never before. I’ve been to this “mount” more times than I can count and have significant memories of certain groups that I’ve hosted in Israel when we read the words of Yeshua from Matthew 5,6 & 7. But, this year, a new understanding deepened in my life as I sat and listened to groups from the nations read, sing and be healed in the gardens at this site.

When I wrote Esther’s Purification book in 2010 I had no idea that this thread of study of emotions and immunological challenges would continue, but it has and is becoming a new mantra to add to Precious Oils with a video series I am working on called The Precious Oils & Plants of the Bible. Look for more on this project at a later date. I’ve been compiling notes and building my personal library with more resources in not just essential oil therapies, but herbal ones such as tinctures, teas, herbal antibiotics and herbal “cocktails” that those of us who do “folk medicine” can use when our families have ailments.

Also, while I was in Israel last month, I devoted a number of days to study plants, take photos and research from a Hebrew perspective that will enhance my upcoming projects. I plan to return to Israel  to explore the land of the Bible and the plant kingdom as well as do a “Fragrant Bride” trip to Israel in the spring; details how you can join me will be posted soon.

Here are some Precious Oils suggestions for you to possibly help in your difficult journey. My websites are being updated this week that will reflect my new inventory of Aroma Bottles and new blends that incorporate many of the oils that I list below and could be easier for you to purchase than trying to blend yourself.
Inhalations: room diffuser, Aroma Bottle or tissue therapy. (1 part can be 1 drop or 1 teaspoon blended in a separate bottle and dispensed by the drop into your diffuser or on a tissue.

Your blend can be a combination of two to five of the following oils.

1 part of your favorite citrus essential oils. (lime, lemon, orange, mandarin, petigrain or grapefruit)

2 parts lavender (French, Bulgarian, Italian or English)

1 part marjoram (rosemary, bay or myrtle are other plants that add the herbal component and can be used in combination to form one part of your diffuser blend).

Optional oils include

< 1 part mint (corn mint a/k/a Indian mint, spearmint or peppermint)

< 1 part ylang ylang, patchouli, spikenard or vetiver (these oils are strong and earthy). Use sparingly, you can always add more, but will have a difficult time to blend it in if over used in your blends.

Other oils include spice oils such as nutmeg, allspice, anise or ginger; again use sparingly not to over-power the aroma. Tree oils such as spruce, silver fir, eucalyptus, cypress or cedar woods are great with citrus and add a cleansing aroma that helps clear your passages, especially when being around the ill smells of hospitals.

Massage Oil (full body, hand or foot)

For every 15 ml (1/2 ounce) of carrier oil (sweet almond, jojoba, fractionated coconut, olive or an unscented massage oil purchased from your health food store) add up to 15 drops of your favorite essential oil or any that I have listed above.

Hand massages can be quick and simple if you carry a small bottle of blended massage oil with you. After washing your hands and getting a life’s lesson on patience as you sit and wait for tests and medical personal you can use a few drops of the massage oil on your hands just as you would a hand cream.

I hope that the above essential oil suggestions are helpful to you and give you a few moments to enjoy God’s pharmacy through essential oils.

Your e-mail this morning shared how you briefly talked to me when I was traveling; sorry I wasn’t able to talk on the phone when you called. My International and domestic travels from the end of August until the first of Nov this year were nearly non-stop and didn’t allow much time to post on Face book and other Internet sites that I have nor return calls and e-mails. I hardly had time to do laundry and attend to household responsibilities before I traveled for another journey. But, during this season I began to take RBV300, an immune boosting supplement. I wasn’t looking for a supplement; it was the last thing on my mind. My discover of it happened while I was standing in line at the bank, just days before I began traveling.  My bank is community-minded and they have a table where local business can put their cards and such. There was a flyer inviting people to a meeting along with a list of auto-immune diseases. I was taken back and took the paper and gave the man a call, and yes, although I was getting ready to leave town two days later I went to the meeting. I was curious in part because of my new book project and workshop, but also for myself. I knew the toll that my upcoming travels could possibly have on my body. Although I didn’t have the time to fully explore the company the little I learned in a few hours prompted me to buy and use the product. Did it make a difference in my health, can’t give you a defining moment, but I believe it added to my stamina and lack of illnesses while in Hong Kong, China and Israel.

I’m amazed with Restart Your Life and their set-apart patented product(s) and became almost equally intrigued with their business plan. Although it is a network marketing business model, I weighed the options how to share the benefits of the product with others. I am overwhelmed to find out that there has been thousands of medical studies, a non-commercial book written on the benefits of beta glucan and to learn that there was an independent bio-med comparison study published a few weeks ago that gives RVB300 a first place rating as showing the significant immunestimulative activity of RBV300. In all honestly, networking companies are something I never wanted to be part of but this one came to me in a unique way and the timing of was just too “coincidental”? Perhaps not.  I’ve always believed in supplements, but this one in particular has caught my interest first of all because it  boosts our immune system and has been proven safe.

Thanks for reading, I’m off the road until mid December and will be posting much more as my projects become available. If you are interested in knowing more about RVB300 and the company, Restart Your Life you can go to my web site www.RestartYL.com/PreciousOils or contact me and I will send you more information.

It’s a New, and Exciting, Season for Precious Oils

Dear Friends,

It’s been quite a while since I had the time to fully devote to my ministry, Precious Oils. Thank you to all who’ve been patient and understand of my life’s first calling as wife, mother (of six, nearly all grown children) and grandma.

Precious Oils is in the beginning of our third decade and I am in a season of my life where I can finally devote my time to Precious Oils and what I’ve been called to do. I’d like to take a few minutes this morning to share some of our plans.

This fall I will be making my 27th journey to Israel. I know, many of you have never been once and it is a dream of yours. Israel became one of the Lord’s gifts to me; He has miraculously provided for each journey. Those stories could be a book in itself. Each time I go to Israel I take love and comfort to Israelis in hospitals, the Messianic Community and to people on the streets. It is a special ministry and I’ve been honored to continue to bring blessings to the People of the Book.

The connection of the land of Israel and my Precious Oils ministry really began on my first journey in September 1999 when I was at The Temple Institute in Jerusalem. I tell this story in my teaching book called Ketoret (The Holy Incense). It was when the lecturer was telling us about the Holy Incense and we smelt the ingredients of it (at that time only seven of the 11 had been discovered) that I had an encounter with the Lord somewhat like I did when the Lord initiated me into this ministry on May 1, 1991.  I wrote down the ingredient list and asked my guide if I could hold the bottles of the spices a second time. I had already had one other “spice related” experience that day as we were walking to the Temple Institute; both experiences in the Old City was very much part of why I wrote my Precious Oils and the Fragrances of the Bible study years later in 2008.

Through the years I’ve had opportunity to experience Israel in profound and exciting ways. I’m now at another season where some of the encounters I’ve had in Israel pertain to an exciting project my husband and I began discussing last December when he took the time off of work to accompany me to a conference. We were full steam ahead, but I took a detour that allowed me to once again know the loving patience of Abba and how He will get you back to your calling. Gracious and loving Father is all I can say.

Today I am writing because this year, I believe, is the NOW moment to go the next step with Precious Oils by bringing my Precious Oils Studies to life through video teachings. Not just video teachings from my kitchen or a studio, but from the Holy Land. This is where I need your help, and your prayers. I’ll try to be brief, but you need a little background over the last few years and how you can help us.

David and I have been on a 21 year journey with Precious Oils Up On The Hill. In 2011, after 13 months and the assistance of DC attorney who helped us put our thoughts in the correct wording, we were granted a registered trademark from the US government. This was no small task, but it was important to protect Precious Oils.

The story of how our legal, registered name has its own story, and it’s just like the Lord to give you things in your call and service to the Kingdom and then show you later why you did “such and such”.

Precious Oils Up On The Hill was named in different settings. My encounter with the Lord on May 1, 1991 is when Precious Oils got named. In 1993 we lived in a rented home that was on 50 acres. My legal business name at that time was “Somewhat Limited” d/b/a Precious Oils. But I had the most frustrating time with my UPS guy; he could never find our house. It was then I made a change to our legal name calling ourselves Up On The Hill. When the UPS guy read the address and the name all he had to do was look up the hill to find us. When opening a new checking account I asked the bank if I could have both my legal name and my d/b/a name on my account, which they did. Then one time when I was on the Temple Mount (anointing it where the Spirit of the Dome & where the Holy of Holies is thought to have been) the lights went on in my spirit and a glimpse into the future of Precious Oils Up On The Hill. You see, Precious Oils was used on The Holy Hill of Jerusalem and throughout Israel. It is the only place in Scripture where the blessing is commanded, in Psalm 133.

A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. (Psalms 133:1-3 KJV)

Some Historians and Bible Commentators describe this Psalm as possibly being written at a time of David’s life when all twelve tribes assembled in Jerusalem, and when he was anointed King. It is the psalm of unity and blessing and it is the Scripture behind the purpose of Precious Oils and also explains why going to Jerusalem during Succoth, The Feast of Tabernacles, is important. (Zechariah 14)

We need partners during our next stage of Precious Oils Up On The Hill. There are two ways to help; by donations and by purchasing products from our web site. You are very welcome to e-mail me at PreciousOils@aol.com with any questions that you have.

Tax deductible giving is available as follows.

Prepare Ye The Way of the Lord ~ Temple Mount, Jerusalem, Israel, Succoth 2011

Comfort Ye, Comfort Ye ~ Succoth 2011 ~ Succoth 2012

Comfort . . . the word evokes each of us in our own way.

For some it is food, like chicken pot pie made from scratch just like Grandma used to make, and for others CHOCOLATE. An infant knows comfort when being held close to his mother, snuggling as they both fall into an afternoon snooze. For others, a relaxing bath and getting in bed with freshly washed sheets, and finally getting time to read the book that’s been on the shelf.  Other things that comfort are a cup of tea with lavender honey or sitting on the porch with an ice cold glass of lemonade in the heat of summer. Both beverages are enhanced when sipping with loved ones.

Oh, comfort, something we all need in the craziness of our lives, and something that we read of in the Bible in many Scriptures.

There are four Hebrew root  words for “comfort” and are similar in thought.

  • H1082 בּלג  bâlag  baw-lag’
A primitive root; to break off or loose (in a favorable or unfavorable sense), that is, desist (from grief) or invade (with destruction): – comfort, (recover) strength(-en).
  • H5162  נחם  nâcham     naw-kham’
A primitive root; properly to sigh, that is, breathe strongly; by implication to be sorry, that is, (in a favorable sense) to pity, console or (reflexively) rue; or (unfavorably) to avenge (oneself): – comfort (self), ease [one’s self], repent (-er, -ing, self).
  • H5582 סעד   sâ‛ad  saw-ad’
A primitive root; to support (mostly figuratively): – comfort, establish, hold up, refresh self, strengthen, be upholden.
  • H7502 רפד  râphad  raw-fad’
A primitive root; to spread (a bed); by implication to refresh: – comfort, make [a bed], spread.

I’m feeling I could write a 3-inch book just on the Hebrew word “comfort”, but I’ll just add a few thoughts on “comfort”  found in Isaiah 40. Isaiah is filled with future events that will happen during the Messianic era. I believe Isaiah’s words are the guidance we need to “comfort God’s People and Israel”. Many commentators believe that beginning with this Scripture, and the remaining 27 chapters of Isaiah, is a thematic study in itself.

Comfort (nacham) ye, comfort ye My people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins. The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”   Isaiah 40:1-5 KJV

For those of you who don’t know my story, it was Sept 1999 I made my first journey to Israel during Succoth (a/k/a Feast of Tabernacles). It was during the Jerusalem Parade, as I was passing out Kosher candy to the children, that my heart was filled with wanting to do “more” than give candy. A year later I once again traveled to Israel during Succoth, this time I took dozens of pairs of socks for men, children and women.

Socks? . . . Yes, socks, something I consider to be quite comforting, I guess perhaps one of my favorite Scriptures is also found in Isaiah 52. You know socks and feet go together 🙂  “How beautiful are the feet of them who bring good news.” In addition I added something else to each pair of socks. Inside each pair was a US dollar bill where I highlighted “In God We Trust”. Over the next few years each journey I made to Israel I took “socks” along with other items of comfort, medical supplies and practical items. It’s so funny when I check in at the airport I’m always asked if I am “moving” to Israel.

In 2004, as I was preparing to go to Israel, I had a quiet thought in my heart. What I felt was that I needed to take teddy bears to Israel during Succoth. As I gathered 400 small beanie baby size teddy bears, I was so excited, what greater expression is a teddy bear to bring comfort.  That year, my friend Karen joined me and enthusiastically we began a process of vacuum sealing the bears so we could fit as many as possible in our suitcases. We had no idea what we were going to do with all the bears as we traveled, it didn’t matter, we felt that our bear mission of taking comfort was important. We had so much fun and with all honesty it was so easy to bring the element of surprise and joy each time we took a bag of bears to the streets of Jerusalem, hospitals and when we went to Hebron. As the days progressed we began to feel a little sad that we were just about out of bears. Every journey since that time I have taken teddy bears, medical equipment, shoes and socks, toiletries as well as other items that are distributed to charitable organizations in the land. I have more stories than you have time.

In the fall of 2011 as I was downsizing and moving it was time to make a decision with a special collection of teddy bears that I had kept displayed in my home. Many of the bears were larger than the beanie baby size that I would normally take, some even were valuable to bear collectors. As I packed them I also felt this year I would concentrate on giving these special bears to older men and women while marching in the Jerusalem parade. Here’s a collage of some of the recipients of the bears during the 2011 march.

I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you what a blast I have doing this, what an incredible joy to bring smiles not only to the one who gets the teddy bear but as you can see in the pictures those who are nearby get a kick out of it also. Then, there is the emotional side of this ministry. It was that morning that Soldier Gilad Shallit was released with mixed emotions among Israelis. We all rejoiced that Gilad had been returned after his five long years of being a prisoner, but it was also that morning that hundreds of terrorists were released resulting in heartache in the hearts of those who would never see their loved ones whose lives had been lost during multiple terrorists attacks. Very, very emotional day.

This last picture has a story that I would like share. We were approaching the end of the parade and were on Agron Street. As one looks ahead you will see the Old City and to the left is Independence Park. As I reached into my bag and brought out my last bear this woman began to cry. This has happened to me before; it always grips my heart. I don’t know what to say or do but to smile, give out the bear and go on. This woman was hesitant to take the bear. As I placed the bear in her hands, I looked her directly in her eyes and said “Nacham, Nacham”. She grabbed the bear, and then she gave me one of the biggest bear hugs I’ve ever received. After a few moments of talking I took this picture as she waved goodbye.

While this was my last bear to give out during Succoth 2011 I am looking forward to another adventure during Succoth 2012. Perhaps you will join me in Jerusalem, Israel. There always has been a reason to bring comfort to Israel, this year I’m feeling even more so. I don’t have to tell you that daily the news is full of more threats and hate toward Israel. I’ll be posting information on my HereToTheNations.com web site how you can join me and “Comfort ye, Comfort ye MY people” THIS YEAR IN JERUSALEM. Together we will Prepare the Way of the Lord.

With love,
