Ancient Secrets ~ Modern Uses

Welcome to PreciousOils.wordpress.com blog.

I, Apothecary, Cynthia Hillson began my journey of essential oils in 1989 and formed Precious Oils on May 1, 1991. Precious Oils Up On the Hill is a ministry that is based on bringing the Word of God to life through the fragrances of the Bible. I believe that there is a deeper relationship with the Creator of the Universe and His Word as we embrace Biblical fragrances.  Most of us live in a nature deficit world and have lost touch with digging in the soil or taking a walk in the garden.  To add to the deficit, we rely on so many synthetic fragrances that our bodies think we smell the real thing. In this blog I hope to encourage you to find the ancient secrets found  in Biblical plants. I also believe that you will be encouraged with the Biblical plants modern uses that have been part of the lifestyle of my family of six children and husband David for years.

Essential oil therapy ranks high on our list of modalities for our health. Rest, a diet full of fresh vegetables always at our fingertips, good water and our faith keep us energized daily. I believe in drinking herbal teas and taking quality supplements to help us in our pursuit of keeping healthy. When we any of us become ill, I am first to prescribe bath-therapy and compresses using my portfolio of more than 90 pure, therapeutic essential oils from around the world.

I am a Modern Day Apothecary who teaches about Biblical fragrances for personal delight, physical health, and spiritual growth. I lovingly call my books and workshops a “Show and Smell” ministry.

I hope you will check back each month as I add to Precious Oils. I believe you will truly find that the Modern Uses are found in the Ancient Secrets. For our first lesson we go to the Short History of Medicine, Author Unknown.

“Say this prayer.”

“That prayer is superstition.”

“Drink this potion.”

1940 A.D.:

“That potion is snake oil.”

“Swallow this pill.”

1985 A.D.: “

That pill is ineffective.”

“Take this antibiotic.”

“Here, take this root!”
